BOOKING ACCOMMODATION

Bilbao is home to a range of hotels, apartments and B&Bs, all within walking distance of the venue and the city centre. The EWTEC 2023 Committee have reserved a limited number of rooms at the following three hotels with special prices indicated (these include breakfast and VAT). The deadline to make reservations for these reserved rooms is July 3rd 2023.

Please note, there are several events taking place in the city which coincide with EWTEC so it is advisable to make your reservations as soon as possible.

The hotel is in the heart of Bilbao, completely renovated in 2016, it is within walking distance of the city’s biggest sights. Rooms come with desks and free Wi-Fi, making them excellent workspaces. They also have comfortable mattresses, LED TVs and rain effect showers. The hotel is situated within a 9 minute walk of the conference venue.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Bilbao is well well connected by road and rail to the rest of  Spain. If travelling by land there is a network of railway lines in Bilbao, ample public transport options and quick and economical options to park your vehicle in either one of the many city centre car parks or one of the Park and Ride car parks. For those travelling by air Bilbao International Airport offers more than 600 flights weekly, linking directly and in an average of 1 to 3 hours, with Ámsterdam, Berlín, Bruselas, Dublín, Dusseldorf, Estambul, Frankfurt, Ginebra, Lisboa, Londres (Heathrow y Stansted) , Manchester, Milán, Munich, Oslo, Paris (Charles De Gaulle y Orly), Praga, Roma, Stuttgart, Venecia, Napoles, Lisboa, Oporto, Florencia etc. It also offers connections with the main cities in Spain. For those wishing to travel by water, the Port of Bilbao makes the Cantabrian Sea an authentic highway to the city entrance with a regular ferry from the United Kingdom. The ferries transport people and vehicles three times per week on the Portsmouth-Bilbao-Portsmouth route, with two different ferries: the Cap Finistère and the Baie de Seine. These ferries, operated by Brittany Ferries, moor 20 minutes from the centre of Bilbao on the Zierbena Dock (pier A3). The journey takes 24 or 32 hours depending on the day of the week. There is also a Portsmouth-Roscoff-Bilbao route.
